Courtney Ann McLaughlin
Student: Courtney Ann McLaughlin
Why this book? I first read this book during my senior year of high school, and it was one of the first times a novel really struck a chord with me. I still think about the ending, and I truly appreciate it as a novel that focuses on women’s issues without being condescending. Having recently traveled to New Orleans, where some of the novel takes place, I was reminded of how much I enjoyed reading Chopin’s work.
