Why this book? My earliest memories of reading chapter books—Mrs. Rosenzweig’s class, 1st grade—involve this book. George’s writing inspired my love of the outdoors and started me on my way to love reading as well. I hope to open up new worlds to kids through books like this and help them love reading as much as I did growing up.
