Why this book? I have always held a fascination with foreign countries, and Three Cups of Tea gave me an insight into a country I knew nothing about before reading it. The true story of Greg Mortensen and his work building schools in Pakistan is so inspiring, and I think anyone who reads it would go away with a greater appreciation for this struggling country.
