Why this book? I always have been passionate about reading, and when I was in high school, my professor asked us to read this book. It was very intriguing and with a story completely different from any book I read before. The magical realist style in this book became one of my favorite elements. Since then, Gabriel Garcia Marquez become my favorite writer and this, my favorite book. Years later, through my college life, I continued reading this book as it helped me deal with the solitude from being away from home, not only because of the story, but also because it represents a part of my life in Venezuela.
