Title: Singin’ in the rain: the making of an American masterpiece
Author: Earl J. Hess and Pratibha A. Dabholkar
Student: Mary Cecil
Why this book? This book was an immense help in the class I took at UK on film. Singin’ in the rain and it’s book truly sparked my interest in film and film studies. Reading this book also inspired me to learn more about the career of Gene Kelly, which led me to the Film Studies books published by the University Press of Kentucky. My interest in their publications on film history caused me to apply with UPK, and there I discovered a love for the publishing industry. I love studying history, storytelling, and film, and this book was the perfect combination of the three!
