Why this book? English is not my first language. Growing up I started reading as an assignment but quickly fell in love. During my middle and high school years I would read three to six books in a month. However, once I got to college I found that I had no free time to read. This book was one of the few books I’ve read leisurely in the past four years. The Game of Thrones series, both the books and the TV show, has offered me many much needed mental breaks. George R. R. Martin created such a beautiful, complex, and captivating narrative which has held my attention for my entire college career. This is by far my favorite series and I’m so happy that I’ll be able to keep following it past my college life.
