Lela Lyon
Title: Classic fairy tales: text, criticism
Author: Maria Tatar
Student: Lela Lyon
Why this book? This was the first textbook I had to read in college. It was this class that really exposed me to the humanities and how something like fairytales can be reinterpreted and reformed so many times. This book and this class really taught me how to think critically about stories that I have heard since I was little and what meanings can come from them. Basically, this book started my college career in a really interesting direction that I’m glad I followed.
