Why this book? Charlotte’s Web was one of the first books that made me really enjoy reading. I remember falling in love with Wilbur the pig with the first couple of pages after seeing an illustration of him in a baby carriage. I identified with Fern’s passion and devotion and longer for a friend like Charlotte. I was hooked. As I move forward in my career as a librarian, I hope to connect people with stories like this and to spark a desire for lifelong learning.
