Why this book? Appalachia North was the first book I read where I felt seen and represented. It brought me such joy to see the easily forgotten and unknown areas of PA, that I proudly call home, so beautifully described and honored. It inspired my Master’s Thesis in the Linguistics Program and continues to inspire the work I do within the Library and Information Science.
