Title: Party Politics in the Age of Caesar
Student: Tammy Kirk
Why this book? I enjoyed reading it as an undergrad enough to buy my own copy. Part of the reason I enjoyed Party Politics is because Taylor has an engaging writing style. She really brings the reader into the book. I think that is, in part, because the chapters were originally delivered as lectures. Another reason Party Politics is so enjoyable is that, while the topic of the book is foreign both in location and time, the activities described are not. While reading the book I continually saw similarities to today’s politics. Party Politics in the Age of Caesar is a scholarly book that is completely accessible.
