Why this Book? I found this book while doing research on a thesis about socialism, though I changed my topic, this book has continued to stand out in my mind as one of the best political fiction books ever written. Written a hundred years ago, The Iron Heel, is still prophetic in its subject matter and tone. While the concepts may be disquieting, the novel is too well written to be put down.
