Student: Sarah Piester
Why this book? I am getting my Masters in Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles and have a research focus of historic costume collections and their accessibility. This book serves as an information hub for historic costume collections throughout the U.S. Several of these collections are housed at universities and colleges, but some listed are housed in a historic home or site. In my opinion, there is no other entity that leaves a greater educational impression on a community than items, stories, and the atmospheres that historic locations provide. Historic homes and sites are essential to the development of current culture and public aesthetics. There is so much to be learned from studying the history of dress. Enjoy.
