Why this book? I am a fan of Deborah Harkness’s fiction books and when researching a paper I was writing on the history of scientific thought I happened across this non-fiction book by Harkness. This book walks the reader through the scientific changes occurring during Elizabethan London and culminating with events leading up to the Scientific Revolution. I found the history of science and medicine to be a very interesting topic that I hope to continue to learn/read about in the future.
